Active since 2010, Majaha Nkonyane has grown from a passionate spoken-word performer into a respected cultural ambassador and corporate communicator, using poetry to promote national identity, resilience, and storytelling across different platforms.

His journey began on the Rooted Soulz stage, a platform known for nurturing spoken-word talent and strengthening the poetry movement in Eswatini.

Over the years, Poetic Soul has performed at prestigious national platforms including His Majesty’s Garden Party and major creative events, while also collaborating with renowned gospel artists such as Nothando Hlophe and Benjamin Dube.

Nkonyane’s one-man poetry production, Blanket Your Words, further demonstrated his creative versatility and ability to engage diverse audiences.

Nkonyane’s contribution to the arts has earned him recognition at the prestigious MTN SWAMA Awards, where he was honoured as Best Poet, cementing his position among the country’s leading wordsmiths. His poetic work Beauty of Eswatini also celebrates the country’s culture, heritage, and identity, reinforcing poetry as a powerful storytelling tool.

His artistic philosophy is rooted in intellectual depth and emotional honesty, using poetry as a mirror to society to challenge, heal, and inspire communities.

Beyond performance, he delivers keynote poetry at corporate summits and curates events using a plenary approach to ensure effective communication and engagement.

“A poet is not just a performer, but a custodian of the people’s stories,” Nkonyane said, highlighting his commitment to preserving Eswatini’s heritage through spoken word.

As Poetic Soul continues to perform at national platforms, creative venues, and environmental and cultural events, he remains a leading voice in Eswatini’s growing creative and communication landscape.
