TIMPHISINI – For thousands of vulnerable families facing the harsh realities of winter, Sunday was not just another day.
It was a day filled with warmth, hope and renewed faith as His Royal Highness Prince Sicalo, Founder and Patron of the Sicalo Foundation, led a major outreach programme that touched the lives of more than 3 000 households in the Timphisini and Ntfonjeni constituencies.
Held at Etimphisini High School, the event brought together community members, leaders and beneficiaries who gathered to receive essential support in the form of food parcels, blankets, mattresses and other necessities aimed at easing the burden faced by struggling households during the cold winter season.
The beneficiaries included elderly citizens, people living with disabilities, child-headed households and young people who often face significant challenges in meeting their daily needs. For many, the donations represented far more than material assistance—they symbolized care, compassion and the reassurance that they have not been forgotten.
Addressing the gathering, Prince Sicalo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors whose continued generosity has enabled the Foundation to extend its reach to vulnerable communities across the country. He said their contributions were helping restore dignity and bring comfort to those most in need.
The Prince described the occasion as an emotional and fulfilling moment, saying he was overwhelmed with joy to be among the people and witness firsthand the positive impact being made through the initiative.
“This is a day that fills my heart with happiness,” Prince Sicalo told the crowd. “We are here because of the generosity of our sponsors, who continue to stand with us as we reach out to communities in need. Their support allows us to share these gifts and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
He noted that this year’s donation programme was particularly timely as temperatures continue to drop across the country. In response to the growing needs of vulnerable families, sponsors expanded their support to include mattresses alongside blankets, ensuring that recipients would have additional protection and comfort during the cold months ahead.
“The mattresses and blankets will help our people stay warm and sleep comfortably during winter,” he said, adding that every donation carries a message of love and solidarity.
Prince Sicalo also paid tribute to the beneficiaries themselves, saying their appreciation and words of encouragement continue to inspire the Foundation’s work. He explained that seeing the positive impact on families motivates the team to keep returning and serving communities across Eswatini.
“The appreciation we receive from you strengthens us. It encourages us to continue this journey and return to support you again. We pray that God grants us many more opportunities to come back and share more joyful moments together,” said the Prince.
The event attracted several dignitaries, including Hhohho Regional Administrator Princess Tsandzile, chiefs, Members of Parliament and community leaders, all of whom joined residents in celebrating a day marked by generosity and unity.
As the programme concluded, the atmosphere was filled with smiles, songs and heartfelt expressions of gratitude. Elderly beneficiaries clutched their blankets with relief, while families left carrying food parcels and mattresses that will help sustain them through the winter season.
For many of the recipients, the donations represented more than practical assistance. They served as a powerful reminder that there are people and organisations committed to standing beside them during difficult times. In communities where daily struggles often go unnoticed, the outreach programme brought not only relief but also hope, dignity and a renewed sense of belonging.
Through the continued efforts of the Sicalo Foundation and its partners, thousands of lives are being touched, proving that acts of compassion can make a lasting difference and help build stronger, more caring communities across Eswatini.
