LOZITHA– Newly appointed Liqoqo member Princess Gcebile has pledged to serve with dedication, integrity and respect for Their Majesties after taking the oath of office as a member of the King’s Advisory Council.

Princess Gcebile made the commitment during her swearing-in ceremony held at the Liqoqo offices at Lozitha Royal Residences on Monday, July 13, 2026. The oath was administered by Assistant Attorney General and lawyer Mbuso Simelane.

During the ceremony, Princess Gcebile took an oath of loyalty, pledging to faithfully serve His Majesty King Mswati III, his heirs and successors in her new role as a member of Liqoqo.

“I do swear that I will well and truly serve King Mswati III, His heirs and successors in the office of member of Liqoqo. So help me God,” she declared.

After taking the oath, Princess Gcebile promised to carry out her duties diligently and with humility while respecting Their Majesties. She said she was committed to serving the nation faithfully in the responsibilities entrusted to her.

Her appointment follows the publication of a Government Gazette last month announcing that Their Majesties had seen it fit to appoint her as a member of Liqoqo.

Princess Gcebile joins a distinguished group of Liqoqo members led by Chairman Paul Dlamini. Other members include senior royals such as Prince David, Prince Bandzile, Prince Gcina, Prince Sibhimbi, Prince Mandla, Prince Mabandla, Princess Phumelele and Princess Tsandzisile, as well as respected traditional leaders and national figures including Chief Makhosikhosi Khumalo, Mzuthini Ntjangase, Edgar Hillary, Vusumuzi “Major V” Dlamini, Make Lydia Sijabusile Dlamini, Mnguni Simelane and Mandla Dlamini.

Princess Gcebile previously served as an appointed Senator after being appointed by His Majesty King Mswati III. During her tenure in the Senate, she contributed to parliamentary debates and served on portfolio committees before leaving the House at the end of that parliamentary term.

Before joining Liqoqo, Princess Gcebile served as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development. She has also represented the Royal Family at various national and international events and regularly takes part in national ceremonies, including the Incwala, reflecting her long-standing service to the Kingdom.

Liqoqo, also known as the King’s Advisory Council, is one of Eswatini’s highest traditional advisory bodies. Its members are appointed directly by His Majesty the King to advise on matters relating to Swazi law and custom, national affairs and issues of governance.

The council also plays an important role in matters of royal succession and provides advice on key national appointments and traditional governance.

The swearing-in marks Princess Gcebile’s formal assumption of office as she joins the council in serving the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Mswati III.
