MBABANE–Putso launched his EP “UMKHULEKO” with a live performance at Mbabane Theatre Club on April 25, 2026, drawing an energetic and engaged audience.
The event marked the official introduction of the five-track project, which reflects the artist’s personal journey of faith, growth and responsibility. Formerly known as Putso De Vocalist, the artist has rebranded as part of a broader shift in identity and purpose, which is central to the EP.
During the performance, Putso delivered a set that combined emotion and storytelling, giving audiences insight into the meaning behind “UMKHULEKO”, which translates to “prayer”. The project focuses on his desire to grow as a man and provide for his children, while maintaining a strong spiritual foundation.
“This project is my prayer. I am asking God not to leave me while I am still trying to become a better man and build a better life for my children,” he mentioned. The statement reflects the tone of the EP, which centres on honesty and personal reflection.
The night also featured performances from local artists Lastborn HR, Milano, Big Buy and Senanile, whose appearances added variety and energy to the programme. Their collaborations highlighted the role of unity within the local music industry.
The EP includes tracks such as “Umkhuleko”, “Siphiwo Sami”, “Love at First Sight” featuring Nana Bullet and Osi, “Ngibambe”, and “Emanga” featuring Lastborn HR. It also features collaborations with artists from Nigeria and Ghana, adding a broader African influence to the project.
Attendees responded positively to both the music and the message, with the live setting allowing for a deeper connection between the artist and his audience. The launch event served as both a performance and a reflection of Putso’s artistic direction.
The release of “UMKHULEKO” represents a significant milestone, highlighting his development as an artist focused on purpose, faith and meaningful storytelling within Eswatini’s music scene.
