MBABANE– Sithobelweni-born rapper Fanson will appear on Channel YemaSwati on April 30, 2026, following the growing success of his single “Abafuni Siphumelele”.

The 22-year-old artist, born Siboniso Fana Mamba, is set to share his journey during a live interview expected to highlight both his music and personal experiences. The appearance marks a significant step for the young rapper, whose rise began with simple recordings on a mobile application.

Fanson started his music journey using the “Tune Me” app, where he recorded early songs with his friend Mndeni Magagula. Without access to a studio, the pair relied on limited resources to develop their sound. “We didn’t have a studio. We had a dream and data,” he said. “We would record, delete and record again. That process taught me I could create something from nothing.”

His growth continued at Mabensane High School, where he met producer Blaq Spider, who influenced his artistic direction and identity. It was during this period that he adopted the name Fanson, shaping his brand and musical focus.

In September 2025, he released “Abafuni Siphumelele”, a track that addresses challenges faced by young people striving for success. The song, mixed and mastered by TN$ Savvy of WiseEagle Records, gained traction across digital platforms and local performances.

“This song recognises what people go through every day,” Fanson said. “You start winning and the energy changes. Not everyone wants to see you succeed.” The track has since resonated with listeners, gaining attention on social media and during live shows.

Fanson’s upcoming television interview is expected to explore the meaning behind the song and his personal experiences. “This is not just about music. I want people to understand that rejection and setbacks are part of the journey,” he said.

With plans for new releases and a possible music video, the artist continues to build momentum. His Channel YemaSwati appearance is seen as an opportunity to reach a wider audience and share his story.
