MBABANE– Government through the Ministry of natural resource and energy is strengthening its regional presence in the mining and energy sectors through participation at the 12th Mozambique Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition currently underway in Maputo, Mozambique.
The country is being represented by the Honourable Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, HRH Prince Lonkhokhelo Dlamini, at the high-level regional gathering which has brought together government leaders, policymakers, investors, financiers, and industry experts from across Southern Africa and beyond.
The conference is focused on discussions around mining opportunities, energy security, sustainable development, regional integration, and investment partnerships aimed at driving economic growth within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
During the engagements, HRH Prince Lonkhokhelo Dlamini is expected to highlight Eswatini’s growing investment potential in both the energy and mining sectors. Key areas of focus include ongoing investment in energy infrastructure, clean and renewable energy initiatives, petroleum security, and regional collaboration designed to support industrialisation and long-term economic development.
Eswatini’s participation comes at a time when many African countries are seeking sustainable energy solutions and stronger regional cooperation to address increasing energy demands and economic challenges. Governments across the region are also intensifying efforts to attract foreign direct investment into strategic sectors capable of creating employment opportunities and stimulating economic activity.
The conference further provides a platform for networking, policy dialogue, and engagement between governments and private sector stakeholders involved in the mining and energy industries. Discussions are expected to explore innovative approaches to energy generation, financing, and responsible resource development.
Government believes the event presents an important opportunity to position Eswatini as a credible and competitive regional partner for investment and cooperation in natural resources and energy development.
Eswatini’s participation also reflects Government’s broader commitment to sustainable development, economic diversification, and strengthening partnerships that contribute towards regional growth and stability within the SADC region.
