HLATHIKHULU – Salem High School and Nkwene High School are set for a decisive showdown in the ESSA group stages as both schools fight for a place in the semi-finals at Hlathikhulu Sports Centre.
The fixtures, scheduled for Saturday morning, will feature different categories including ladies’ soccer, boys under-18 and boys elite divisions.
Salem High heads into the encounter with confidence after collecting six points in the competition so far. A win or even a draw will be enough to secure their place in the semi-finals. Nkwene High, however, faces a must-win situation after accumulating five points from previous matches.
The opening match in the ladies’ category is scheduled for 0900hrs, followed by the boys under-18 clash at 1015hrs before the boys elite teams close the day’s action at 1130hrs.The final group stage fixtures are expected to produce entertaining football, with young players eager to showcase their talent in front of supporters expected to gather at the venue.
School football competitions continue to grow in popularity across Eswatini, providing young athletes with an opportunity to develop their skills while competing at a high level. Saturday’s matches are expected to deliver intensity, excitement and determination as teams chase a place in the knockout stages.
