KWALUSENI– Today the Scholarship Unit from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security participated in an Open Day hosted by the University of Eswatini, where prospective students gathered to explore academic opportunities and receive guidance on applying for government scholarships. The event provided learners with crucial information on scholarship applications, priority study programmes, and career assessment tools aimed at helping them make informed decisions about their futures.
During the event, officials from the Scholarship Unit engaged directly with students, explaining the government scholarship application process and outlining the programmes included in the Government Priority List. Many students took the opportunity to ask questions about eligibility requirements, application timelines, and the fields of study that align with national development goals.
The Ministry’s Measurement and Testing Unit also participated, offering valuable advice to students on aptitude testing and how such assessments can help them better understand their abilities and interests. The unit highlighted how these tests support learners in identifying suitable academic paths and careers.
Hundreds of students filled the university hall, attentively listening to presentations and interacting with officials at various information points. The atmosphere was energetic, with many learners eager to gather information that could shape their academic journeys.
For several students attending the Open Day, the interaction provided clarity and encouragement. Some shared that the session helped them better understand how to apply for government scholarships and which programmes could offer strong career prospects in the future.
Officials noted that participating in outreach events like the Open Day is an important way to bring information directly to young people. By engaging students early, the Ministry hopes to ensure that more learners are empowered with the knowledge needed to pursue higher education and contribute to Eswatini’s development.
As the day concluded, many students left the venue feeling inspired and better prepared to take the next step toward university and scholarship applications, carrying with them both information and renewed hope for their academic futures.
