MATSAPHA– The President of the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA), Adam “Bomber” Mthethwa, has described the ANOCA Zone VI Olympic Values Education and Clean Sport (OVEP) Workshop as a powerful convergence of intellect and purpose — one that brings together “bright minds across the region” to advance integrity and education in sport.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the four-day workshop at Esibayeni Lodge, which runs from October 27 to 30, 2025, Mthethwa underscored the importance of collaboration among member countries in shaping the future of African sport.
“This workshop brings together some of the brightest minds and practitioners in the region to strengthen our collective understanding of Olympic Values Education and Clean Sport,” he said. “These are two pillars that define the future of our Olympics.”
The EOCGA President warmly welcomed delegates representing the ten ANOCA Zone VI member nations and partner organizations, expressing Eswatini’s pride in hosting such a transformative regional event.
“On behalf of EOCGA, I extend warm greetings to each participant representing our national zones and partners in sport,” he added. “Your presence here reflects a shared commitment to building a sporting culture grounded in fairness, respect, and integrity.”
The workshop aims to equip participants with the tools and knowledge to promote Olympic values, ethical leadership, and anti-doping education within their respective countries. It also seeks to foster collaboration that ensures young athletes across the region grow not only as competitors but also as ambassadors of clean, value-driven sport.
As discussions progress, the event is expected to leave a lasting impact on how Southern Africa nurtures its next generation of champions — guided by education, unity, and the true spirit of Olympism.
