MBABANE – Eswatini’s poetry scene has a bold new voice as Tony Anthonimass officially released his latest poetic offering titled “Kunini Ezama Kungahlangani?” on January 16, 2026.
The piece, which is now available on all major digital streaming platforms, serves as a beacon of hope for Eswatini’s youth struggling with the country’s economic challenges.
The poem was deeply inspired by the high unemployment rate currently affecting the nation. Anthonimass noted that the struggle of graduates who are forced to accept any form of labor just to survive moved him to write this piece. He explained that while the poem acknowledges the harsh reality of “waking up to seek opportunities only to return empty-handed,” its core mission is to encourage citizens not to lose hope even when things do not add up.
The release marks a significant milestone in a journey that began over a decade ago. Anthonimass started his poetry path in 2012 as a Grade 7 pupil. His talent was nurtured during high school morning assemblies and special gatherings before he transitioned to a professional level in 2019. Since going professional, he has performed across diverse venues, including hotels, restaurants, and churches.
“The experience acquired over the years has really shaped my voice to be bold and address any topic without fear,” the poet shared. He credited his past mistakes with refining his talent and helping him find his unique artistic identity.
Poetry lovers can now find “Kunini Ezama Kungahlangani?” on platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, and Tidal. Fans can also look forward to a visual component soon, as the artist revealed he is currently working on the poem’s official video. The upcoming visuals are intended to help the public further appreciate the deep storytelling and emotion behind his written words.
Despite the heavy subject matter, Anthonimass remains committed to his calling. Through his work, he continues to prove that poetry remains a vital tool for social commentary and emotional healing in Eswatini.
