SITEKI – The Siteki Municipality’s Pay Your Rates Campaign concluded on January 16, 2026, on a high note, rewarding residents who faithfully settled their rates with a raffle of shopping vouchers.
It was launched on August 30, 2025, the campaign encouraged responsible payments while promoting community participation in local development.
The final draw, held at the Council offices, celebrated the commitment of ratepayers who contributed to the town’s growth. Town Treasurer Muzi Mkhonta announced the winners and echoed the Council’s appreciation for the strong public participation that made the campaign a success.
The E3 000 shopping voucher winners were Saneliso Mkhatshwa, Lindiwe Masinga, G.S Jwankie, Sikhosana Phumzile, and Hloniphile Ndzimandze.
The E2 000 shopping voucher winners included Wazzy Surtee, Timothy Simelane, Mahlalela Natchy, Christina Nyawo, and Emangweni Properties.
The E1 000 shopping voucher winners were Pholile Methula, Ncamsile Matimandze, Cebsile Masimula, Munro PR, Bhekumusa S. Dube, Jeremiah Ndlovu, Okwakhe Phungwayo, Dumsile Ngwenya, and Michael Dlamini.
Delivering her remarks, Chief Executive Officer Sthembile Simelane extended a heartfelt message of appreciation to all plot owners and ratepayers. “Your commitment plays a critical role in the development of Siteki and the delivery of essential services,” she said.
Simelane emphasized that municipal rates form the backbone of the town’s progress, enabling Council to improve infrastructure, strengthen service delivery, and enhance living conditions for all residents.
She further encouraged those whose names were not drawn to remain faithful in settling their rates, reminding them that every contribution supports the growth and sustainability of the municipality.
Council confirmed that all winners will be officially contacted and invited to collect their prizes on a date to be communicated.
The Pay Your Rates Campaign has been widely praised as a successful partnership between local government and residents, highlighting the importance of consistent payment and community responsibility in building a stronger, better Siteki for everyone.
