MANZINI– Music lovers are in for an electrifying experience as celebrated South African Maskandi star uMafikizolo is slated to headline the upcoming Taxi Fest.
The much-anticipated event is scheduled for April 4, 2026, at the Mavuso Trade & Exhibition Centre, where fans from across the country are expected to gather for one of the season’s biggest musical showcases.
uMafikizolo is widely celebrated for his mastery of Maskandi, a genre deeply rooted in Zulu traditional folk music and storytelling. His artistry is marked by the seamless blending of traditional guitar-driven rhythms with contemporary lyrical narratives that speak to everyday life, love, struggle, and cultural pride. This authentic approach has allowed his music to resonate strongly with audiences across Southern Africa.
The festival promises a high-energy performance rich in cultural flair and live instrumentation. Fans can expect to hear popular hits from his catalogue, such as “Ngathi Nguye,” songs that have cemented his reputation as one of Maskandi’s most compelling voices.
