MBABANE Eswatini’s sporting leadership is being showcased on the international stage as Victor “Mavikane” Dlamini, Chairperson of the National Olympic Academy under the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA), represents the Kingdom at the 19th International Session for National Olympic Academies and National Olympic Committees’ Delegates in Greece.

The high-level forum is being hosted by the International Olympic Academy in Ancient Olympia from 17 to 24 May 2026, bringing together delegates from across the world to engage on the future of Olympic education and athlete development.

This year’s session is centred on the theme “Empowering Inclusion, Integrity and Responsibility for Every Athlete,” which emphasizes strengthening Olympic values through education, ethical leadership, and athlete-centred approaches within sport systems globally.

The gathering provides a platform for knowledge sharing, dialogue, and the exchange of best practices aimed at enhancing Olympic education programmes and promoting cooperation among National Olympic Committees and Olympic Academies.

Dlamini’s participation is expected to contribute to discussions on how smaller nations like Eswatini can continue to strengthen sports development structures while embedding values of integrity, responsibility, and inclusion at all levels of athlete engagement.

Ancient Olympia, regarded as the birthplace of the Olympic Games, adds symbolic weight to the discussions, as delegates reflect on the historical roots of Olympism while shaping its modern global direction.

EOCGA expressed pride in Dlamini’s representation, noting that his presence reinforces Eswatini’s commitment to advancing Olympic ideals and strengthening international sporting relations through education and leadership development.

The association further wished him success in the session, saying his participation places Eswatini firmly within global conversations on sport, ethics, and athlete empowerment.
