DUBAI, UAE— “We want to tell the untold story of Eswatini to the world.”

Palazzo Hospitality, the chosen operator for Eswatini’s International Convention Centre (ICC) and Five-Star Hotel (FISH), has revealed its strategy to attract tourists to the country.

This will include highlighting the country’s unique and untold stories.

Lonela Săvescu, Chief Marketing Officer of Palazzo Hospitality, explained that multiple site visits to Eswatini have inspired innovative ideas to help the tourism board and the new property stand out across Africa.

“We want to tell the untold story of Eswatini to the world,” she stated, emphasising this as a key selling point for the ICC and FISH.

Săvescu also explained how they plan to incorporate Eswatini’s rich culture into their marketing efforts. “We will focus our messaging on the culture of the country, highlighting obviously everything and all the stories that haven’t been told yet to the international travellers and culture is the main one,” she highlighted.

She added that their aim as operator and management company is to create this project and make it a hotel and convention centre that will entirely shape the landscape of the hospitality industry in the entire continent.

Regarding branding and positioning, Săvescu outlined their vision: “We’re looking forward to creating a luxury hotel along with an exhibition centre that can host some of the biggest events in the world. We are speaking about summits, conferences, industry exhibitions, along with destination weddings and other big celebrations.”

Leveraging their marketing expertise, Palazzo Hospitality plans to elevate Eswatini as a preferred tourist destination. “With our expertise as marketers handling multiple properties, not only in the Gulf States but also in other geographical areas, we will do as much as possible to elevate the destination and propose it to international travellers as a country with untouched nature and real authentic Africa.”

Addressing the question of Eswatini’s broader appeal beyond the hotel, Săvescu said they are coming into the project as a hospitality company because they believe that successful projects belong to a successful destination.

“We will work in parallel to position both the destination and the property as the ultimate places to visit on the continent,” she promised.

His Majesty has indicated that he expects the ICC& FISH project to be completed this year.
