MANZINI – Women will gather in Manzini on Saturday for a motivational event aimed at encouraging women to recognise their strength, embrace their individuality and believe in their capabilities.

The Women in Power event is scheduled for 7 March 2026 at the Peace Centre Guest House, next to the Metropolitan Church, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The gathering will bring together speakers, creatives and attendees for an afternoon of discussion, reflection and inspiration centred on the theme “You are capable.”

Event host Milly Maps said the gathering was created to remind women that they have the ability to overcome challenges and shape their own futures. “We want women to understand that they are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to,” she said. “Sometimes people just need a space where they can hear encouraging stories and feel seen and supported.”

The event will feature Setsa Magagula as a guest speaker alongside Sinenkhosi Shabangu, who are expected to share personal insights and experiences with the audience. Emihle will serve as the master of ceremonies, guiding the programme through different segments of the event. Poetry will also form part of the programme, with Okuhle expected to deliver a spoken word performance aimed at inspiring and motivating attendees.

Maps said the concept behind Women in Power recognises that women come from different backgrounds and experiences, but can still learn from one another. “Every woman carries a different story and a different strength,” she said. “The idea is to bring those voices together so that people can see the variety of journeys women go through and still rise.”

The event takes place a day before the global celebration of women’s achievements and empowerment, further highlighting conversations around women’s voices and leadership.
