MANZINI– The mission is back, and young lives are already being touched.
Schools Mission has resumed, with ministry taking place at Mafusini Primary School, Sigangeni High School and ENhlanganisweni High School. The initiative is bringing Christian ministry directly into schools, with reports of young people giving their lives to Christ, finding freedom and experiencing spiritual revival.
The team has also called on supporters to keep the mission in their prayers as it continues reaching young people. The initiative brings ministers and other members of the mission team into schools, creating spaces where learners can engage with Christian teachings alongside their normal school routines.
According to the mission team, the outreach has already seen some young people making commitments to their faith, while others have shared personal experiences of finding freedom and renewed hope through the ministry.
For the team, however, the mission is not simply about holding services at schools. It is also about meeting young people where they are and creating an opportunity for conversations about faith, life and the challenges they face.
Schools can be demanding environments for young people, who are navigating their studies, friendships, family expectations and decisions about their futures. The organisers believe that providing a space for spiritual reflection can form part of the support available to them.
As the programme moves from one school to another, the organisers are asking supporters to continue praying for the mission and the young people it hopes to reach.
For those involved, the measure of the mission may ultimately be found beyond the services themselves in the conversations sparked, the young people encouraged and the personal decisions made after the team has left.
