SIPHOFANENI – Bringing it back home to Siphofaneni!
Macetjeni’s own musical gem, Zweli The Vocalist, born Zweli Msibi is pulling out all the stops for the fourth edition of his annual birthday bash, set for October 4, 2025, at the vibrant Wendy Lounge in Siphofaneni.
While his actual birthday falls on October 2, he has chosen to celebrate a couple of days later to accommodate a bigger crowd and make room for an even bolder experience. “Wendy Lounge is a special place for me – it’s in the community where I grew up. Celebrating here makes it feels more real, more connected,” Msibi shared.
The bash, which began humbly at Riverstone Mall’s Ocean Cuisine in Manzini, has evolved into a major cultural event spotlighting Eswatini’s rising talents and uniting music lovers from across the country. “It’s not just about my birthday anymore. It’s a movement – about creativity, connection, and celebrating life,” he explained.
This year’s line-up is loaded with talent, including a performance from Durban’s Gologo, and home-grown acts like Diba Diba, Samu Once Again, and lively emcee Jumbo Khumalo. Holding it down on the decks will be crowd favourites DJ Nelson X, Tasha, and Debza, while the ever-hilarious Magongo the Comedian promises to leave the crowd in stitches.
He emphasized that safety and accessibility are top priorities. “We’ve arranged affordable transport options and tight security to make sure everyone enjoys themselves without worry.”
In a surprise reveal, he also announced a new single titled Inzondo, featuring South African star Caesar, of Dear Ex Yami fame. The track is expected to drop just before the event.
Past editions of the bash have been hosted in Gilgal KaKhanda and Moneni IFS Lounge, growing in scale and popularity each year. “It hasn’t been easy, but the hard work has paid off. Now I want to take the bash to more towns and keep growing this dream,” he said.
