MBABANE – The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival is stepping into a bold new chapter, evolving into a richer, longer celebration that now promises three days of immersive African culture, creativity and lifestyle experiences.
Luju 2026 introduces a refreshed weekend format, with the main festival taking place from Saturday, 1 August to Sunday, 2 August 2026 at the iconic House On Fire in Malkerns, Eswatini.
This evolution replaces the previous Friday–Saturday structure and reflects the festival’s remarkable growth and rising regional appeal.
Beyond the two core festival days, Luju’s transformation into a three-day experience captures the full cultural journey, from early arrivals, fashion and culinary build-ups, creative networking and cultural immersion, to the main showcase weekend. The festival has firmly positioned itself as a lifestyle destination rather than just an event.
Marking its 8th edition, Luju 2026 builds on the success of 2025, which welcomed over 10,000 attendees from 26 countries, reinforcing Eswatini’s growing status as a premium African cultural tourism hub.
Festivalgoers can look forward to Luju’s signature blend of elegance and African pride, featuring celebrity chef demonstrations, premium wine and whisky tastings, world-class fashion runways and a vibrant Pan-African music lineup. The extended experience allows guests to connect more deeply, explore more creativity and celebrate culture over multiple days.
At its core, Luju remains a powerful driver of the creative economy. In 2025, 103 SMEs, 85% from Eswatini, generated over E2.5 million in sales. The expanded format promises greater exposure, longer trading hours and increased economic impact for local entrepreneurs, designers and artisans.
