MBABANE — The roar of motorcycles may have drawn attention to the inaugural +268 MCC Bikers Rally, but it was acts of giving that gave the event its deeper meaning yesterday.

The rally got off to a strong start as the +268 MCC Bikers Club showcased its commitment to community support through a series of donations, reinforcing the message that the biker community is about more than riding and entertainment.

Speaking during the rally, +268 MCC Bikers member Mfanamakhosi Dlamini highlighted some of the club’s charitable initiatives, including a donation of toiletries to Mbabane Correctional Services.

The donated toiletries included essential items such as toothpaste and sanitary pads, aimed at supporting people within the correctional facility.

Dlamini said the donations reflected the heart of the biker community, stressing that their passion extends beyond motorcycles.

“Bikers have good hearts. It’s not just about riding,” Dlamini said.

The club’s outreach also extended to the wider community through a donation of clothes, providing practical support to people in need.

Adding to the initiative was Ncamiso Mahlalela, popularly known as the “Pads Guy”, who donated sanitary pads through the club.

Mahlalela said his contribution was driven by his belief in the importance of people supporting one another.

“I believe a person is a person because of people. If you need help, I will come running,” he said.

The donations formed part of the rally’s community-focused activities, demonstrating how the +268 MCC Bikers Club is using its platform to contribute to causes beyond the biking scene.

The initiative was also commended for highlighting the positive role that biker groups can play in urban communities, particularly through charitable activities and continued outreach.

For the club, the message was clear: while motorcycles, music and celebrations may bring people together, community remains at the heart of the rally.

The charitable efforts provided tangible evidence of this commitment, with toiletries, sanitary pads and clothing being channelled towards people and institutions that need support.

As the rally continues, the +268 MCC Bikers Club has shown that the spirit of the event is not only found on the road, but also in the willingness to stop, reach out and give back.
