Delivering remarks during the official activation, Mavuso said the marathon was more than a sporting event, but a platform aimed at uniting communities while creating opportunities for economic growth and social development.

“Today marks an exciting and historic moment as we officially activate the Nhlangano Half Marathon. This event is more than just a race; it is a celebration of health, unity, tourism, youth empowerment and community development,” said Mavuso.

“Through this initiative, we aim to promote healthy living, create opportunities for local businesses and position Nhlangano as a destination for sports and recreation,” she said.
