MBABANE – Rising Eswatini hip-hop artist Notik is set to make a major statement with his latest collaboration featuring Thaifo Son, as the two artists join forces on a new song titled “Sondzela.”
Notik, who began his musical journey in 2018, says his passion for music was inspired by South African rapper Cassper Nyovest, whose writing style, energy and stage presence motivated him to pursue a career in the industry. “I was inspired by Cassper Nyovest. His style of writing and energy on stage encouraged me to start doing music,” said Notik.
Since entering the music scene, Notik has continued developing his sound, working closely with producer NevesAox as they explored a Drill-influenced hip-hop style. The partnership has produced positive results, including the street anthem “Sanbuka,” which has received strong feedback from listeners.
Currently working under MeltingC, Notik continues to expand his musical journey while building his reputation as one of the emerging voices in Eswatini’s hip-hop scene.
The artist has also had opportunities to perform on various platforms, including the Eswatini Farmers Market, Umuthi Fest and the Maletsunyane Braai Festival in Lesotho. He believes his upcoming performance at the MoMo Xperience will be another major highlight of his career.
The new collaboration with Thaifo Son came together naturally after both artists connected with the energy and direction of the song. According to Notik, the beat was inspired by the sound and feel of KO’s “Sete,” while the lyrics came together through freestyle sessions.
“Thaifo Son loved the wave, the energy of the song, and everything about it. We had been trying to work on something together, and I guess the time was right,” he said. The song “Sondzela” is expected to debut during Notik’s MoMo Xperience performance, where he promises fans a memorable set.
With a growing catalogue, international performance experience and a fresh collaboration with Thaifo Son, Notik is positioning himself as an artist determined to leave a lasting mark on the local music scene.
