MANZINI – The CEO of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC), Stanley Dlamini, has applauded teachers, pupils, sponsors and stakeholders for their role in making the Inyatsi Schools Arts & Culture Drama & Theatre Competitions a success.
Dlamini expressed gratitude to the programme directors, sponsors including Inyatsi and Genesis, as well as corporate partners for investing in young people and supporting the growth of arts and culture in Eswatini.
He highlighted that teaching arts is one part of the journey, but giving learners the opportunity to perform, compete and showcase their talents independently is another important step in developing future artists.
“Arts and culture is about creating opportunities for future artists. Our focus is not only on already recognized artists, but also on upcoming artists because there is a future for them,” said Dlamini.
He added that such initiatives create opportunities for young performers to gain experience and eventually represent Eswatini in international competitions.
Meanwhile, actress and arts advocate Phindile Mashabane shared exciting plans to strengthen theatre development and create more exposure for local talent. She announced that a theatre and education tour is planned for the end of July in South Africa, where participants will explore theatre opportunities and build connections.
She also revealed plans for South African theatre practitioners to visit Eswatini and experience the country’s theatre industry, with audiences expected to attend a one-woman show scheduled for 7 November 2026.
The remarks highlighted the growing commitment towards using arts and culture as a platform to empower young people, preserve heritage and build the next generation of creative talent.
