MANZINI – What started as a vision to create a proudly Eswatini premium beverage brand is quickly becoming a growing movement as The BAWSS Cellar continues to gain momentum in the local market.

Founded by entrepreneur and brand builder Anele Shabangu, The BAWSS Cellar was created from a desire to build a brand that represents excellence, ambition and celebration while proving that businesses from Eswatini can compete confidently on regional and global platforms.

Shabangu describes herself as a passionate entrepreneur who believes in creating opportunities rather than waiting for them. Through her journey, she has focused on building ventures that inspire people while creating value within communities.

The BAWSS Cellar officially launched in 2026 with the vision of creating a premium lifestyle beverage brand that emaSwati could proudly call their own. “ Our goal has never been to simply sell sparkling beverages. We are building a brand that represents excellence, confidence, celebration, and the spirit of dreaming big,” said Shabangu.

She explained that BAWSS Sparkles was created around the belief that life itself deserves to be celebrated. The brand encourages people to appreciate not only major milestones such as weddings, graduations and promotions, but also everyday moments and the gift of life.

The journey since launch has been both exciting and humbling for Shabangu, as the brand has grown through events, pop-up markets, social media and direct engagement with customers.

According to Shabangu, every purchase, recommendation and message of support has played a role in building the brand. The upcoming availability of BAWSS Sparkles in selected retail stores marks a major milestone and reflects the trust customers have placed in the product.

What sets BAWSS Sparkles apart, she says, is that it represents more than a beverage. It is a lifestyle brand built around gratitude, confidence, ambition and celebration.

As a female entrepreneur, Shabangu acknowledges that building a brand from the ground up has come with challenges, including funding, building awareness and navigating the realities of entrepreneurship. However, these experiences have strengthened her determination.

“One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency is more powerful than perfection. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin,” she said.

Looking ahead, The BAWSS Cellar plans to introduce new products, collaborations, increase retail availability and create more experiences around the brand. The long-term vision is to establish BAWSS Sparkles as one of Eswatini’s leading premium beverage brands while expanding into regional and international markets.

Shabangu also revealed that the company is working towards producing BAWSS Sparkles locally, creating opportunities within Eswatini and showcasing the country’s potential to the world.
