MANZINI – In a bold move to tackle youth unemployment and inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs, a coalition of churches in Manzini has joined forces to host a major empowerment summit aimed at transforming young people’s lives through business, innovation and practical skills.
The Manzini Christian Youth Empowerment Summit 2026, scheduled for Saturday, July 4, is expected to bring together aspiring entrepreneurs, church leaders, government institutions, business experts and development partners under one roof to empower young emaSwati with the knowledge, networks and confidence needed to create sustainable businesses instead of relying solely on formal employment.
The one-day summit will be held from 9am to 4pm at Glory Restoration Assembly Eswatini, situated at 38 Tenbergen Street, opposite the Cathedral Church in Manzini.
Organisers say the initiative comes at a time when unemployment, particularly among young people, continues to challenge many families across the country. Rather than focusing only on the problem, the summit seeks to provide practical solutions by encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation and self-reliance.
The event has been organised through a partnership of several churches that believe faith-based organisations have an important role to play in empowering communities economically as well as spiritually. Their vision is to equip young people with the skills, mentorship and opportunities needed to become business owners capable of creating employment for themselves and others.
Participants will receive practical guidance on starting and growing businesses, developing innovative ideas, accessing financial support and identifying market opportunities. Presentations will be delivered by ESWASA, RSTP, EADF, EYRF and NAMBoard, giving attendees direct access to institutions that support entrepreneurship.
One of the major highlights will be a panel discussion themed “Youth, the Church and the Economy,” exploring how churches can help promote youth entrepreneurship, family businesses, cooperatives and long-term economic sustainability.
The programme will also feature networking sessions, entrepreneur spotlights and interactive discussions designed to connect young entrepreneurs with mentors, funding opportunities and strategic partners.
Supporting churches include Glory Restoration Assembly Eswatini, Gospel Powerhouse International, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Winners Chapel International Manzini, Mashach Remnants, Global Zion Embassy Ministries, New Birth Tabernacle Church, Christ Resemblance Church and God’s Glory Ministry.
Organisers believe the summit will help nurture future entrepreneurs, encourage innovation and strengthen partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic growth in Eswatini.
