MANZINI – Eswatini recording artist Stella Jacobs is set to release a new single on Friday, marking her latest collaboration with rapper Lyrikal Busta as local musicians continue to produce music centred on personal experiences and social themes.
Titled Ngikhala, the song explores the emotional impact of life’s hardships, touching on themes of pain, disappointment and resilience. The release brings together Jacobs’ soulful vocals and Lyrikal Busta’s lyrical delivery in a collaboration that reflects a growing trend of artists using music to tell stories of perseverance.
The single was produced by DJ Citie, while Sean Cast handled the mixing and mastering. According to information released ahead of the launch, the track follows the journey of someone who has endured difficult circumstances before finding the strength to move forward.
The release also adds to an increasingly active period for Eswatini’s music industry, with local artists continuing to roll out new material across different genres. Collaborations between established and emerging musicians have become more common, helping broaden audiences and introduce different musical styles to listeners.
Speaking ahead of the release, Jacobs described Ngikhala as one of the most personal songs she has recorded, saying it was inspired by people who have faced struggles and questioned whether life would improve.
She said she hopes the song reminds listeners that difficult moments do not define their future and that resilience can eventually lead to better days.
The single is scheduled for release on 17 July under Gem of Africa Record Label. Its arrival will give fans their first opportunity to hear Jacobs and Lyrikal Busta on the same record, while adding another locally produced release to Eswatini’s growing catalogue of original music.
