DVOKOLWAKO – The local music scene is bracing for a fresh wave of Kasi Rap as Mzwandile Brian Kunene, known to his fans as Mshazi, prepares to drop his highly anticipated single and music video, “Ilanga,” on February 11 2026.
The upcoming release is more than just a song; it is a high-quality production designed to showcase the storytelling power of Eswatini’s underground hip-hop. Produced by the prolific Toy38, the track promises a clean, professional sound that avoids vulgar language, ensuring it is accessible to music lovers of all ages.
The track features a powerful collaboration with Blaq C (Sibonelo Magagula), a fellow artist from Mliba. Mshazi noted that the partnership was a natural fit, as both artists are dedicated to the Kasi Rap genre.
“I chose to collaborate with Blaq C because he is one of the best upcoming rappers under Mkhiweni residential, and we share a similar vision for the music,” Mshazi stated.
Fans can expect the music video, which was shot and edited by Toy38, to premiere simultaneously with the audio on the “Indigo Visualz” YouTube channel. The visuals are expected to bring to life the core theme of the song—the bittersweet reality of time and the “hate for the sunset” when good moments with friends must come to an end.
This release follows the success of Mshazi’s 2023 EP, Nomathemba, which established him as a storyteller with a conscience. With “Ilanga,” Mshazi shifts the focus toward the value of companionship and the daily rhythms of community life.
By choosing the Kasi Rap genre, the artist continues his mission to pass clear, relatable messages to his people, drawing inspiration from the impactful delivery style of legends like Zola 7.
The official launch on February 11 will be hosted on the Indigo Visualz YouTube platform, marking a significant step in Mshazi’s career as he expands his digital footprint. Following his recent appearance at the TLC Talent Show in Sidvokodvo, the release of “Ilanga” is set to further solidify his place as a rising force in the Mkhiweni and Dvokolwako regions.
