PHILANI MASWATI INTRODUCES SMART CARD AND UMHELWANE

MANZINI – Philani Maswati has introduced a membership smart card and a traditional regalia as part of efforts to generate revenue to sustain the organisation’s charitable programmes.

The two initiatives were unveiled by Philani Maswati Chairman Lutfo Dlamini during a press conference held at Pizza Club Manzini, where he said the organisation is seeking sustainable ways to finance its operations without relying solely on donations.

According to Dlamini, proceeds from the membership smart card and the newly introduced Umhelwane, also known as the Lihiya, will be used to support the running of the charity organisation and enable it to continue assisting vulnerable members of society.

He explained that the smart card will serve as an official membership identification tool while improving access to the organisation’s services. The digital system is also expected to strengthen record-keeping and streamline member management as the organisation continues to grow.

Alongside the smart card, Philani Maswati introduced the Umhelwane/Lihiya, a traditional regalia that will be sold to for E300. Beyond promoting cultural identity and unity among members, the regalia is expected to contribute towards raising funds for the organisation’s charitable activities.

Also addressing the media, Skyfly Digital Managing Director Musa Dlamini, whose company partnered with Philani Maswati on the smart card project, said digital innovation can help organisations improve efficiency while creating sustainable systems to support their work. He also acknowledged Her Majesty Indlovukazi for championing the Philani Maswati initiative and supporting ideas that continue to strengthen the organisation.

The launch attracted members and stakeholders, with the organisation expressing confidence that the two initiatives will not only strengthen its operations but also provide a more sustainable source of income to fund its community outreach and charitable programmes.
