ENDZINGENI- Endzingeni High School has honoured 15 former learners from the Class of 2025 who secured admission into universities and other higher learning institutions in Eswatini and beyond, as part of the school’s annual Awarding Day tradition.
The former learners were invited back to the school to be recognised for their academic dedication and for successfully securing places in institutions of higher learning after completing their secondary education.
Headteacher Sifiso Dlamini said the school deliberately brings back its former learners to celebrate their achievements while giving current learners an opportunity to learn from their experiences.
Dlamini said the former learners are also given an opportunity to take to the podium and address the current learners, encouraging them to work hard and set higher goals for themselves.
“We invite them back because we want to honour them for their dedication and for managing to secure a spot in university. We also give them the podium so that they can encourage the external classes and inspire them to aim higher,” said Dlamini.
The initiative forms part of the school’s efforts to motivate learners by exposing them to former students who have progressed to higher education. Their return provides current learners with tangible examples of what can be achieved through commitment, discipline and determination.
The 15 former learners from the Class of 2025 represented a range of achievements, having successfully progressed from Endzingeni High School to institutions of higher learning in Eswatini and outside the country.
The school’s Awarding Day therefore serves not only as an occasion to recognise current learners for their performance, but also as a platform to celebrate the continued achievements of its former learners.
Through the tradition, Endzingeni High School seeks to create a culture where learners are encouraged to view university and other institutions of higher learning as attainable goals and to remain focused on their academic journey.
