MANZINI- Eswatini is gearing up for an unforgettable celebration of public transport at the Taxi Fest 2026, happening Saturday, April 4, at the Mavuso Trade & Exhibition Centre from 10 AM to 6 PM.
The festival promises a day of music, fun, and recognition for the country’s hardworking taxi operators.
“Taxi Fest is our way of honoring the backbone of our public transport system while giving families a day of fun and entertainment,” says Menziwokuhle Mtsetfwa, one of the event organizers. “We want everyone to leave inspired, entertained, and aware of the role public transport plays in our daily lives.
Attendees can expect a stellar lineup of both local and South African artists. Crowd favorites Umafikizolo, Gatjeni, and Blaq Major will share the stage with homegrown talents like Zulu D, Sbu Drum DJ, and Linda Dlamini. Mtsetfwa adds, “We carefully selected artists who can bring energy and joy to the event. Music is the heartbeat of Taxi Fest.”
Beyond live performances, visitors can explore a motor show, enjoy kids’ games, and vote for their favorite nominees on giant screens. “This is a festival for everyone,families, music lovers, and even those curious about the taxi industry,” Mtsetfwa says.
The Creative Collabo Foundation and the National Road Safety Council have partnered to highlight the importance of public transport and recognize the dedication of taxi operators. “Public transport keeps our communities connected,” Mtsetfwa emphasizes. “By celebrating it, we hope to inspire improvements and appreciation in the sector.”
The Mavuso Trade & Exhibition Centre provides a spacious setting for all activities. Tickets are available for R100, granting access to all performances and attractions.
