NTFONJENI– Emergency medical responders demonstrate their life-saving abilities during a simulation exercise at Ntfonjeni as part of the official opening of the Sicanco Setemphilo Clinic and Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVAF) clinic at Mshinande under the Mshingishingini Chiefdom.
The exercise is witnessed by King Mswati III, who visits the area to officially open the health facility aimed at strengthening emergency medical services and improving access to urgent healthcare for communities in and around Ntfonjeni.
During the event, the King bestows a new name on Emergency Medical Services (EMS) 977 Eswatini personnel, referring to them as “BoMashesha,” a title that recognises the speed and urgency required in their work when responding to emergencies across the country.
Attendees also witness the newly named BoMashesha in action as they stage a simulated emergency response. The demonstration shows how the responders coordinate during critical incidents, from arriving at the scene and assessing patients to stabilising them before transporting them to medical facilities for further treatment.
The exercise highlights the preparedness, teamwork and quick decision-making required of emergency responders who often operate under intense pressure. It also gives the public an opportunity to understand the processes involved in saving lives during accidents and other medical emergencies.
Health officials say the establishment of the stabilisation centre and the MVA clinic will greatly enhance emergency response in the region. The facility is expected to provide immediate medical care to patients before they are referred to larger hospitals for specialised treatment.
Community members attending the event welcome the new development, saying it will help address long-standing challenges of delayed access to emergency care, particularly for residents living far from major hospitals.
The opening of the facility forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare services across the country, while also recognising the dedication of emergency medical responders whose rapid interventions continue to save lives.
