MANZINI – A four-day mission of solidarity has seen the British Red Cross (BRC) and Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society (BERCS) deepen their partnership, pledging stronger support for vulnerable communities in Eswatini.
The British Red Cross delegation was welcomed at the Baphalali headquarters on Monday morning by Secretary General Danger Nhlabatsi and senior officials.
Nhlabatsi said the visit itself was a sign of commitment, describing it as a gesture of friendship that strengthens the ties between the two National Societies.
“The very act of coming here is an expression of commitment. As Baphalali, we are humbled and grateful for this support from our partner,” he said.
The visiting delegation toured projects already underway in different parts of the country and returned with glowing praise for both the initiatives and the staff driving them.
Over four days of intensive engagement, the two Societies mapped out joint action points and shared insights on addressing challenges in the field.
Nhlabatsi noted that the BRC had congratulated Baphalali for achieving more than 30 percent of their 2025/26 programme targets within just two months of commissioning.
“This recognition is not just for us as an institution, but for every staff member and volunteer working tirelessly on the ground,” he said.
The British Red Cross concluded the visit by pledging continued support to BERCS, particularly in strengthening disaster response and reaching more vulnerable people.
Currently, much of the activity supported by the BRC is concentrated in Lubombo and Shiselweni regions.
As the partnership heads into a new phase, both organisations walked away with a renewed spirit of collaboration and solidarity. For Baphalali, it was yet another moment to shine.
