MBABANE– Eswatini’s creative industry received a major boost as celebrated comedy duo Gogo and Silwane paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Honourable Bongani Nzima, where discussions centred on youth empowerment, creativity and opportunities within the growing digital economy.
The meeting highlighted the influential role that creative talent can play in transforming the lives of young people. Known for their humorous and relatable content, Gogo and Silwane shared how dedication, innovation and consistency have enabled them to build successful careers while inspiring thousands of followers across various social media platforms.
Fresh from attending the Social Media Influencers Summit in Ethiopia, the comedians reflected on valuable lessons and industry insights gained during the international gathering. They expressed a strong commitment to transferring the knowledge acquired at the summit to local aspiring content creators and social media influencers.
The duo noted that the summit exposed them to emerging digital trends, content creation strategies and opportunities for collaboration that could help Eswatini’s young creatives compete on a global stage.
Speaking during the engagement, Honourable Minister Bongani Nzima applauded the comedians for flying the national flag high and representing Eswatini with distinction internationally.
“Gogo and Silwane continue to demonstrate that creativity is not only a form of entertainment but also a powerful tool for economic empowerment. We are proud of how they are representing Eswatini beyond our borders and inspiring young people to pursue their talents with confidence and purpose,” said Nzima.
The Minister further encouraged the pair to continue mentoring emerging creatives and sharing the knowledge they gained in Ethiopia to help strengthen the country’s digital content industry.
As the creative economy continues to grow, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to creating opportunities that enable young people to thrive through innovation, talent and entrepreneurship.
