MBABANE – The hills of Mdzimba were alive with the sound of music on January 31, 2026, as soulful artist Cool Drop officially launched his highly anticipated debut studio album, Emakhaya, at the popular Mdzimba View Shisanyama.

The event, which drew a diverse crowd of music lovers and industry stakeholders, was a vibrant showcase of local talent. The evening’s program was packed with high-energy performances from a star-studded lineup including Young Zesh, Nkay & Smally, ProRBs, and Grinder. Other artists who graced the stage included Bandora and Mr Kangaroo, while Gifted Kosie literally turned the stage into a dance floor with her electrifying moves. Behind the decks, the resident DJs ensured the rhythm never faltered, keeping the audience on their feet throughout the night.

Adding a corporate touch to the festivities, the True Classic team—of which Cool Drop is a key member—was present in full force. The crew, widely known as the official brand ambassadors of Kabisa Drinks, was joined by their managing team, who were on-site to oversee the smooth execution of the launch and support their artist’s milestone.

The climax of the evening saw the man of the hour, Cool Drop (born Mancoba Mndzebele), take full command of the stage. In an impressive display of artistry and vocal stamina, he performed all 10 tracks from his new album. His performance was a masterclass in emotional storytelling, moving seamlessly from the high-tempo rhythms of “Ubovuma” and the fan-favorite “GPS” that sparked a frenzy on the dance floor, to the deep, soulful melodies of “Make” that define the Emakhaya project. Each track was brought to life with live vocals and a commanding stage presence that proved he is now a leading solo visionary.

A standout highlight occurred when Cool Drop was joined on stage by his mother. In a touching display of parental pride, she stood by her son to support him as he performed, bringing a deep sense of authenticity to the “Emakhaya” (Home) theme. The crowd watched in silence during this intimate moment before erupting in cheers as he dedicated his performance to her.

However, the night also carried a weighty message for the rising star. Local veteran and industry figure M Nation took to the stage to offer some “big brother” advice. M Nation cautioned Cool Drop against the pitfalls of fame, advising him to never turn his back on his fans.

“These are the people who have helped you build this career. Always remember that the same fans who put you up there are the ones who can put you down if you misuse your fame,” M Nation warned, urging the artist to remain humble and grounded.

Taking the advice to heart, an emotional Cool Drop expressed his deep appreciation to his supporters. He thanked his fans for their unwavering support and for “always showing up” for him, noting that his journey in the music industry is only possible because of their loyalty.

The launch, which continued into the early hours, has been described as a landmark moment for the artist and a triumphant night for Eswatini music.
