EZULWINI– The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) will shine the spotlight on the country’s most compliant taxpayers and businesses when it hosts its 4th Annual Client Appreciation Day on Friday, July 10, 2026, celebrating individuals and companies whose commitment to tax and customs compliance continues to drive national development.

Held under the theme “Stars of Compliance: Honouring Clients Who Build Eswatini,” the event has become one of ERS’ flagship annual programmes aimed at recognising taxpayers, traders and strategic partners who consistently meet their legal obligations while contributing significantly to the country’s economic growth.

Beyond recognising outstanding taxpayers, the event seeks to strengthen the relationship between the tax authority and the business community by promoting voluntary compliance, transparency and mutual trust.

Taxes remain one of government’s largest sources of revenue, financing healthcare, education, infrastructure, security and other national priorities.

ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule said the event is more than an awards ceremony, describing it as a platform for building lasting partnerships and encouraging voluntary compliance as a contribution to national development.

Finance Minister Neal Rijkenberg is expected to deliver the keynote address, while SARS Commissioner Dr Ngobani Johnstone Makhubu will discuss trade facilitation, the Authorised Economic Operator Programme, seamless border management and tax cooperation between Eswatini and South Africa.

A major highlight will be the accreditation of 15 companies into the ERS Customs Authorised Economic Operator Programme, recognising trusted traders and promoting faster, safer and more efficient trade.

Awards will recognise compliant taxpayers across numerous sectors, including manufacturing, retail, ICT, finance, construction, agriculture, education, health, transport, accommodation and professional services. Regional micro taxpayers, clearing agents, sole traders, partner institutions and the Overall Highest Contributor will also be honoured.

Businesses will compete in Large, Large-Medium, Medium, Small and Micro categories.

ERS says winners must have consistently filed returns and paid taxes on time, have no outstanding tax debts and no unresolved disputes, ensuring awards are based on sustained compliance.

The event will be streamed live on ERS Facebook and YouTube platforms, allowing the public to celebrate businesses and taxpayers helping build Eswatini through responsible tax compliance.
