MBABANE Eswatini Gospel Music Association (EGMA) President Fakazi Samuel used the Dr Tumi Live Experience platform to shine a spotlight on the organisation’s mission, highlighting how it continues to empower gospel artists and strengthen the creative industry in the Kingdom.

Addressing the congregation before the headline performance, Samuel explained that the association exists to support gospel artists by advocating for their professional growth and helping them build sustainable careers through their talent.

He told the audience that the artists who ministered during the evening, including Nelly Siwela, Linda Dlamini, Siphiwo Ndoni, Shekinah Motsa, Nothando Dlamini and many others, are all members of the Eswatini Gospel Music Association.

Samuel said the association is committed to ensuring that artists are recognised not only for their ministry but also for their contribution to the country’s creative economy.

He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Sports, Arts and Youth Affairs for its continued support of the arts sector, acknowledging the ministry’s efforts in creating opportunities for local creatives.

During his remarks, Samuel explained that the association falls under the country’s arts and culture sector, working within the structures established to promote and develop the creative industry.

He further educated the audience on some of the benefits available to artists through the association, including retirement support and pension initiatives designed to improve artists’ livelihoods after their active careers.

Samuel also stressed the importance of copyright and royalties, encouraging the public to support artists by consuming music through legitimate platforms. He explained that when music is legally purchased or streamed through licensed services, artists are able to earn royalties, providing them with an income that allows them to continue creating and sustaining their careers.

He said supporting artists goes beyond applauding their performances, adding that respecting copyright ensures musicians are fairly rewarded for their creativity and hard work.

Samuel’s address served as both an educational and inspiring moment, reminding the audience that behind every song is an artist whose livelihood depends on the continued support of fans, government and industry stakeholders.

As Eswatini’s gospel music industry continues to grow, the association hopes to see more artists benefiting from structured support, stronger copyright protection and opportunities that allow them to build lasting careers through their God-given gifts.
