EZULWINI — Gospel music is no longer staying behind church doors. With the Eswatini Praise Talent Search, voices from across the Kingdom are being given a chance to reach a wider audience, as Eswatini Television Authority (ETVA) commits to taking the talent search from local auditions to the national spotlight.

Speaking during the official launch held at Sibane Sami Hotel, ETVA Chief Executive Officer Mlamuli Dlamini said the national broadcaster would play a central role in taking the talent search from regional auditions to homes across the Kingdom.

Dlamini described gospel music as deeply woven into the lives of emaSwati, from worship services and weddings to funerals and celebrations.

However, he noted that many talented singers have never had an opportunity to perform beyond their communities.

He said Eswatini Praise Talent Search aims to bridge that gap by creating a national platform where undiscovered gospel voices can be identified, developed and celebrated.

As the official Broadcast Partner, ETVA has committed its airwaves, production expertise and national reach to the programme.

According to Dlamini, the broadcaster will document the journey from the first regional auditions through to the grand finale, ensuring contestants receive exposure across the country.

He said the initiative reflects the public broadcaster’s responsibility to allow emaSwati to “see themselves, hear themselves, and celebrate what is best in themselves.”

Dlamini also recognised the organisations supporting the talent search, including the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, through its Arts and Culture portfolio, and the Eswatini Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Society.

He further acknowledged Terrafertz Eswatini for supporting the programme, saying such partnerships provide a strong foundation for the initiative to grow.

With discussions reportedly underway with prospective sponsors, advertisers and commercial partners, Dlamini encouraged more businesses to invest in the programme.

He said supporting Eswatini Praise means investing in homegrown talent, culture and the next generation of gospel artists.

Dlamini assured aspiring contestants that ETVA would be there to carry their stories beyond the audition rooms and into households across the Kingdom.

He said the broadcaster was proud to walk alongside the organisers “from the very first note to the final performance.”

The Eswatini Praise Talent Search now moves towards its audition phase, promising to turn local voices into a national sound.
