MBABANE- A renewed push to strengthen rural development delivery has taken shape following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Eswatini Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (EWADE) and CFI in support of the FINCLUDE Project.
The agreement signals a strategic alignment aimed at accelerating implementation, improving coordination, and ensuring the successful completion of a programme that has already reached more than 13,500 smallholder farmers and micro entrepreneurs across Eswatini.
At the heart of the partnership is a shared commitment to safeguarding developmental gains while strengthening execution capacity during the critical final phase of the initiative. Under the MoU, EWADE will provide targeted technical and project management support, working within CFIs leadership framework to reinforce delivery systems and sustain momentum.
With the FINCLUDE Project now entering its implementation and closeout stages, stakeholders say the timing of the collaboration is crucial in ensuring that earlier achievements are not only protected but translated into lasting community benefits.
The partnership is expected to sharpen operational efficiency while deepening the project’s impact on rural livelihoods, particularly in strengthening resilience, enhancing productivity, and supporting inclusive economic participation.
Beyond administrative coordination, the agreement reflects a broader development philosophy one that places partnership at the centre of transformation. By aligning institutional strengths, both organisations aim to drive a more cohesive approach to service delivery in rural development programming.
As the FINCLUDE Project moves toward completion, attention is increasingly turning to sustainability, with emphasis on ensuring that farmers and micro entrepreneurs continue to benefit from the interventions long after formal project closure.
The milestone has been described as a reinforcement of collaborative development efforts in Eswatini’s agricultural and rural finance space, where integrated support systems are increasingly seen as key to long term impact.
