EZULWINI– Ezulwini Municipality, in partnership with key stakeholders, marked World Day for Occupational Safety and Health at Work in Ezulwini by focusing on psychosocial well-being.
Employees and experts gathered on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 to discuss workplace mental health, stress management, and safety, through presentations, a webinar, and psychosocial screenings aimed at improving employee well-being.
The commemoration brought together municipal employees, wellness practitioners, and other stakeholders in a coordinated programme designed to strengthen understanding of mental and emotional health in the workplace and to encourage open conversations around stress-related challenges affecting productivity and overall wellbeing.
According to information sourced on EZulwini Municipality facebook page, the event featured expert presentations, an interactive webinar, and psychosocial screenings, which provided employees with practical tools to identify and manage mental health challenges. Organisers said the sessions created a safe space for dialogue, allowing workers to openly discuss issues often overlooked in workplace environments.
Key discussions pointed out the importance of self-awareness, early identification of stress-related conditions, and access to support systems such as counselling services and wellness programmes. Participants also examined common workplace risk factors, including heavy workloads, limited support structures, and communication gaps between management and staff.
Stakeholders said that occupational safety must go beyond physical protection to include psychological and emotional well-being, noting that healthy employees contribute to more productive and resilient organisations. They encouraged both employers and employees to take shared responsibility in building supportive workplace cultures.
As the commemoration concluded, a strong message emerged that prioritising mental health is essential, not optional. Ezulwini Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to integrating psychosocial safety into everyday workplace practices to ensure safer and more inclusive working environments.
The initiative aligns with global efforts to broaden the definition of occupational health by recognising mental well-being as a core pillar of workplace safety.
