MBABANE – Farmers, small business owners, producers and entrepreneurs across Eswatini are being encouraged to prepare for the 58th edition of the Eswatini International Trade Fair 2026 as organisers intensify calls for local participation ahead of the country’s biggest annual business exhibition.

The trade fair, launched under the theme “Unlocking Green Economy Opportunities for Sustainable Trade Promotion,” is scheduled to run from August 28 to September 6, 2026 at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. Organisers say the event will provide a platform for businesses to market products, attract buyers and explore new local and regional markets.

Government and the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) say exhibition rates have remained unchanged to allow more local businesses, farmers and SMMEs to participate despite ongoing economic pressures affecting many entrepreneurs.

For many small-scale farmers and local producers, the trade fair has over the years become more than just an exhibition space. It has served as a meeting point where businesses secure customers, build partnerships and introduce products to larger markets.

The annual event continues playing a significant role in supporting economic activity by bringing together exhibitors from sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, technology, tourism, entertainment and innovation.

Agriculture is expected to remain one of the major attractions during the 2026 edition, especially as the country continues promoting food security, climate-smart farming and value addition within local supply chains.

Eswatini has in recent years intensified efforts to support entrepreneurship and small businesses as youth unemployment and economic pressures continue affecting households. Platforms such as the trade fair are increasingly viewed as important spaces for networking, investment promotion and market access for emerging businesses.

Organisers have described the fair as an inclusive platform aimed at ensuring businesses of all sizes benefit from trade and investment opportunities while promoting sustainable economic growth.
