EZULWINI — Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pholile Shakantu has urged establishment owners across Eswatini to align their services with the rising standards set by the Ezulwini Palazzo International Convention Centre (ICC), as the country prepares to host an increasing number of international delegates.

Speaking ahead of the EU OACPS Joint Parliamentary Assembly to be hosted at the ICC, Shakantu said the opening of the facility places Eswatini on a global platform and calls for readiness across the hospitality sector, including hotels, restaurants, transport operators, and related service providers.

She noted that delegates will spend several days in the country, which presents an opportunity for private sector growth in service delivery. She emphasized that the benefits of international conferences will extend beyond government structures and reach businesses and communities.

Shakantu said the expected rise in meetings hosted at the ICC will contribute to economic activity through increased spending by visitors. She added that consistent service quality will be key to sustaining Eswatini’s reputation as a competitive destination for global events.

She further encouraged collaboration between public and private sectors to ensure that visitors experience high standards of hospitality, safety, and professionalism throughout their stay.

According to government expectations, the ICC will position Eswatini as a preferred destination for regional and international conferences, opening doors for investment and tourism growth. Shakantu said readiness is essential as the country welcomes diverse delegations from across the world, noting that every sector has a role in shaping the image of Eswatini.

Business leaders and small enterprises were also urged to prepare packages and services that reflect the country’s hospitality standards, as increased visitor traffic is expected to benefit both urban and rural economies through wider participation in the tourism value chain. This approach supports sustainable growth and long term job creation across sectors going forward across Eswatini nationwide.
