MBABANE – Government has announced the funeral programme for the late Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala, who will be accorded a State Funeral this weekend.
According to a press statement issued by Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla, a State Memorial Service will be held tomorrow (Friday) at Zakhele Free Evangelical Assemblies Church (New Auditorium) in Manzini.
The service will commence at 11am.
Government stated that the State Funeral would take place on Saturday at Maphalala’s home in Jerusalem KuLawuba, Shiselweni Region, starting at 6am, following a night vigil service.
“The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini hereby notifies the Nation that the late Chief Justice will be accorded a State Funeral,” reads the statement.
Government also announced that a condolence book had been opened at the High Court, where members of the public can record messages of sympathy and support for the Maphalala family.
The Government said the late Chief Justice’s service to the administration of justice would be remembered with honour.
“His commitment and dedication to justice will be remembered with honour,” Government stated.
The Government extended its deepest condolences to the Maphalala family and invited the nation to join in paying tribute to the late Chief Justice.
