MBABANE – The government has taken note of the positive contribution made by Eswatini Positive News (EPN) in showcasing uplifting stories about Eswatini.

This was expressed by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini on May 30, 2025, at the Prime Minister’s Office. The Prime Minister shared these remarks during his meet-and-greet session with staff members and interns from EPN.

During his address, Dlamini noted that what set publications like EPN apart was not only their positivity but also their commitment to authenticity. He emphasized that he disliked propaganda, which misleads people with untruths or half-truths. According to him, positivity should always be grounded in truth.

The Prime Minister further stated that even when promoting causes or individuals, the messaging should be truthful to help people make informed decisions. He added that highlighting positive developments in the country also helps ensure that the public has balanced information, especially in a time when sensationalism often prevails.

Dlamini also commended EPN for maintaining its website and being active on its Facebook page, which has enabled them to reach many people and inform them about the positive developments in Eswatini. However, he challenged EPN’s management to be more vibrant on other social media platforms, such as X and TikTok.

The Prime Minister suggested that there should be more videos showcasing the positive work of institutions and individuals in the country on platforms like TikTok, X, and Instagram. He encouraged the staff to seize this opportunity to contribute to Eswatini’s development through their positive reporting. He concluded by stating that it is not helpful to be surrounded by people who only focus on negativity.
