MATSAPHA – His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) has demonstrated its continued commitment to social responsibility and community development through a donation of E70 000 to the Philani Maswati Charity Foundation, aimed at strengthening support for vulnerable members of society across the Kingdom.
The cheque was handed over to Her Majesty Indlovukazi during the HMCS Day 2026 celebrations held at the Correctional Staff College in Matsapha on June 19, 2026. The donation formed part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to give back to communities and support initiatives that uplift the lives of disadvantaged Emaswati.
The Correctional Staff College was alive with energy and pride as HMCS marked its 18th anniversary, a milestone reflecting nearly two decades of dedicated service in public safety, rehabilitation and nation-building. The celebrations were held in resonance with the national commemoration of His Majesty King Mswati III’s 40 years on the Throne.
The occasion was guided by the theme, “Advancing Rehabilitation and Institutional Excellence Under His Majesty’s Leadership,” which highlighted the institution’s commitment to strengthening rehabilitation systems, enhancing professional standards, and improving service delivery within correctional facilities.
Established under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Philani Maswati Charity Foundation continues to play a vital role in providing care and support to elderly citizens and destitute children across the country. Through its outreach programmes, the foundation ensures that vulnerable beneficiaries receive essential assistance, dignity and hope.
Speaking during the ceremony, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, His Royal Highness Prince Simelane, said the donation reflects HMCS’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society and strengthening community welfare initiatives.

We are proud to contribute to an initiative that continues to bring hope and dignity to elderly citizens and disadvantaged children across the Kingdom,” said Prince Simelane.
The donation is expected to enhance the foundation’s capacity to expand its programmes and reach more beneficiaries across Eswatini. It further underscores the growing role of public institutions in complementing national efforts to improve social welfare and promote inclusive development.
