NHLANGANO– In a move that has sparked a wave of hope and excitement across the southern region, Imisebe Publishing, in a high-powered collaboration with UNESCO and the Kingdom of Eswatini Academy of Sciences, has launched a game-changing STEM initiative at Ntabeni Lodge on March 25, 2026.
This programme is not just about textbooks and theories; it is about shattering glass ceilings and proving to every young girl in Shiselweni that her mind is a powerhouse of innovation.
The initiative comes at a time when the Kingdom is pushing toward a knowledge-driven economy, and the message to our daughters is clear: the laboratory, the engineering firm, and the tech hub are waiting for you. By tackling the unique obstacles that have previously kept girls on the sidelines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), this partnership is ensuring that the “Girl Child” is at the very forefront of Eswatini’s scientific revolution.
Lwandle Simelane, the UNESCO Secretary-General, spoke with infectious optimism about the potential being unearthed in the region.
“One cannot aspire to what they have not encountered,” Simelane noted. “By enhancing access to STEM opportunities, we are inspiring young girls to dream larger and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with confidence. We are making sure they encounter greatness so they can become it.”
The atmosphere in Shiselweni is electric as young learners begin to see a world where they aren’t just consumers of technology, but the creators of it.
