INSTACASH SCHOOLS SPORTS TOURNAMENT HEATS UP

MBABANE – The battle for regional supremacy intensifies this week as the Eswatini School Sports Association (ESSA) school sports tournament hosted by Instacash, enters a critical phase. From Tuesday, June 9, to Friday, June 12, 2026, the cream of Eswatini’s High school talent will descend on stadiums across the country, showcasing raw passion, tactical discipline, and the pursuit of glory in both soccer and netball.

As the tournament moves into the heat of competition, Instacash Managing Director, Mandla ‘Cheeks’ Nxumalo, has lauded the participating institutions for their resilience and dedication.

“Seeing these young athletes perform at this level is truly inspiring,” said Nxumalo. “I want to personally appreciate every school that has worked tirelessly to qualify for this top 16 stage. You have demonstrated excellence, and we wish you all the best as you compete for the title. Remember, while only one team can lift the trophy, the character you build on this field will serve you for a lifetime.”

Nxumalo did not mince his words regarding the conduct expected at these events. Emphasising that sport is a vehicle for unity, he issued a stern reminder to participants and supporters alike.

“These games must be entirely violence-free and defined by the spirit of fair play,” Nxumalo declared. “We are here to celebrate talent, not to foster hostility. I call upon all players, coaches, and supporters to maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship. Let the football and netball do the talking. We want a safe, welcoming environment where families, Headteachers, and fellow students can enjoy the spectacle without fear,” he said

The tournament’s success is bolstered by key partnerships that have elevated the standard of play. Nxumalo extended heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors whose contributions have made the tournament a professional-grade experience.

“We are deeply grateful to Joma Sports for their incredible support in providing high-quality kits for both soccer and netball teams. Furthermore, we must acknowledge the Northwest University for their vital input in sponsoring the netball kits, ensuring our netball stars take the court with confidence and pride,” he added.
