ESWATINI – His Majesty King Mswati III has received the President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, Dr Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, in an audience aimed at further strengthening the longstanding development partnership between Eswatini and the international financial institution.
The meeting formed part of Dr Alkhalifa’s official visit to the Kingdom, providing an important platform for the two sides to deepen relations and explore opportunities for expanded cooperation in areas that can contribute to Eswatini’s national development priorities.
His Majesty’s audience with the OPEC Fund President underscores the Kingdom’s continued engagement with international development partners as Eswatini works to attract financing and partnerships capable of accelerating economic growth, infrastructure development and improved livelihoods for EmaSwati.
The visit also highlights the longstanding relationship between Eswatini and the OPEC Fund, with both sides seeking to build on existing cooperation and identify further opportunities for development-focused collaboration.
Dr Alkhalifa’s engagement with His Majesty is expected to further consolidate relations between the Kingdom and the Fund, while opening space for continued dialogue on projects and programmes that could support Eswatini’s development aspirations.
The high-level meeting reflects Eswatini’s broader efforts to strengthen strategic international partnerships and mobilise resources that can support sustainable economic and social development.
