MANZINI – Members of the Siteki community got an opportunity to better understand the new MVA Fund Act of 2026 as the Sincephetelo MVA Fund took its services directly to the public through its SMVAF On The Road outreach programme.
Held at the Siteki Bus Rank, the outreach brought MVA Fund officials closer to road users, giving members of the public an opportunity to engage with the Fund and access services while learning about changes introduced under the new legislation.
A key focus of the programme was helping the community understand what the MVA Act of 2026 means for road users. SMVAF Head of Legal Senzokuhle Masuku unpacked some of the key provisions, including increased compensation limits, giving the public a clearer picture of how the amendments may affect people involved in road accidents.
The outreach also placed road safety at the centre of the conversation. Bhekumuzi Gule, an Accident Prevention and Public Education Officer at SMVAF, used the platform to remind motorists and other road users of their responsibility to help reduce accidents. Gule encouraged motorists to drive responsibly and prioritise safety, stressing the importance of responsible behaviour on the country’s roads.
Beyond the legal and road-safety discussions, the outreach also created room for entertainment as Gogo and Silwane brought their familiar humour and energy to the Siteki Bus Rank. Their jokes and dancing helped keep the crowd engaged while adding a lighter side to an initiative centred on public education.
The Siteki outreach reflects the importance of taking public services beyond offices and into communities where people can access information directly. For residents, the programme offered an opportunity to ask questions, understand changes to the MVA framework and receive services without having to travel far.
As road users continue to navigate the country’s roads, initiatives such as SMVAF On The Road provide a platform for communities to better understand both their rights and responsibilities under the evolving MVA system.
