In what could be a game-changing moment for Eswatini football, South Africa’s celebrity entrepreneur and football mogul Shauwn “Mamkhize” Mkhize has set tongues wagging after a bold social media post hinted at her next football conquest – and it may just be Moneni Pirates Football Club.
The charismatic former owner of Royal AM lit up the VIP stands during the Ingwenyama Cup final at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday, where she watched Moneni Pirates go head-to-head with Royal Leopard in front of a capacity crowd and under the royal gaze of His Majesty King Mswati III.
While the Pirates may have narrowly missed lifting the prestigious trophy, they could soon be winning off the pitch – in a big way.
Just hours after the final whistle, Mamkhize took to Facebook with a playful yet tantalizing post:
“We’ve officially zeroed in on Orlando Pirates F.C.’s location! Very soon, I will be the new owner and president of the club. And as for my son Andile Mpisane — he’s taking over too! He’ll be the captain, striker, team doctor, mental coach, and possibly even the bus driver if needed!”
Though the post cheekily mentions Orlando Pirates, the timing and Mamkhize’s presence at the Ingwenyama Cup has sparked widespread speculation that her sights may, in fact, be set on Eswatini’s own Pirates of Moneni.

If the takeover becomes reality, it would signal a remarkable moment in Southern African football – a South African powerhouse injecting capital, charisma, and connections into one of Eswatini’s most beloved clubs.
