MANANGA – Adventure and relaxation have taken an exciting new turn at Mananga Country Lodge with the launch of its scenic boat cruise aboard the Inyoni Barge.
Set against the tranquil waters of the Sand River Dam, the cruise offers guests a refreshing escape that blends natural beauty with entertainment and social enjoyment. Officially launched on 1 March 2026, the experience is designed for groups seeking a memorable outing in a unique waterside setting.
Whether it is a gathering of friends, a family celebration or a corporate team-building session, the Inyoni Barge provides an appealing alternative to conventional leisure activities. Guests can unwind, enjoy their favourite beverages and curate their own music playlists while gliding across the dam’s picturesque waters. The calm surroundings create the perfect atmosphere for both relaxation and celebration.
Prior to opening to the public, the vessel underwent a successful test run on 3 March 2026 to ensure safety, comfort and smooth operation. The trial showcased the barge’s spacious design and essential safety features, including life jackets for all passengers. Organisers expressed confidence that the cruise delivers a secure and enjoyable experience for all age groups.
A variety of flexible packages have been tailored to accommodate different group sizes. For cruises without a braai option, prices are E2 500 for 10 people, E3 250 for 15 people and E4 000 for 20 people. Guests who wish to enhance their outing with a braai can opt for a package that includes three meats, pap and salad. This option is priced at E4 000 for 10 people, E5 500 for 15 people and E7 000 for 20 people.
For added convenience, cooler box fees are available at E150 for a large cooler and E250 for an extra-large cooler. Guests bringing cooler boxes are required to purchase a minimum of one drink per person from the club beforehand.
Cruising times are scheduled from 9am to 11am, 12 noon to 2pm and 2:30pm to 4:30pm, providing flexible options throughout the day.
With its combination of scenic charm, comfort and vibrant entertainment, the Inyoni Barge cruise is set to become one of the region’s most sought-after leisure attractions, further strengthening Mananga’s growing tourism appeal.
