MBASHENI– Mbasheni residents have welcomed a major boost in access to clean water following the completion and official opening of a new borehole that began operating over the weekend.

The milestone brought together community members, Member of Parliament Ray Dlamini and Indvuna yeNkhundla Mandla Magagula, who witnessed the official opening of the newly completed water facility.

The operationalisation of the borehole is expected to ease the burden faced by residents who have had to contend with challenges in accessing a reliable water supply. The new facility will provide water closer to the community, improving convenience and supporting households in meeting their daily needs.

Speaking during the opening, Indvuna yeNkhundla Mandla Magagula welcomed the development, emphasising the importance of reliable water infrastructure in improving the quality of life of residents.

The presence of MP Ray Dlamini at the official opening also highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between community leadership and government representatives in responding to the needs of rural communities.
